The Bolognese architect Massimo Iosa Ghini lent his creativity to design for LDM a table with futuristic lines and great balance, to show which limits you can reach with innovative technology. Pedra was one of the focal points at the Italian Stone Theater of Marmomacc 2016
«The conjunction between the world of furniture and stone is surely accomplished in the outdoors, where there is a great need for stone material because on the outside the stone is a twice natural element: consistent in its presence and perfect in its consistency”. Thus the architect Massimo Iosa Ghini summarizes the reasons for the inspiration that led him to design Pedra, a table in Vicenza stone exposed exclusively to The Italian Stone Theater of the 51st edition of Marmomacc.
«Stone materials – continues Iosa Ghini – live a new youth, because they are certainly linked to tradition and, in particular, to the history of our country. But also because, thanks to the possibilities offered by new technologies, we can emphasize shapes and work in a very precise way on details, a bit like if we were all sculptors».
Francesco Grassi, managing director of Grassi Pietra, which owns the LDM brand describes with emotion and pride the fruit of collaboration with the Bolognese architect: «a table, the focal point of home furnishings, with harmonious and futuristic lines, with a plan that it seems suspended between two arches of great stylistic refinement».
“Working with Palladio’s stone was exciting” concludes Massimo Iosa Ghini. «The malleability and solidity that it acquires over time have led me to think of strong and somewhat challenging shapes that, thanks to the professionalism and assistance of the technicians of LDM and Grassi Pietre, have led to the creation of an extremely balanced object and harmonious, usable and functional
