“Torre dei Riflessi” is the story of the genesis of the Vicenza stone, which originates from the water: marine sediments settled on the seabed over the millennia and then the orogenesis transformed them in hills and mountains.
The installation looks like a split of rock that emerges from the water: the stone stands out monumentally in the form of prismatic stems with a vertical course of up to more than 5 meters, which create stone facets on the surface. A “Tower of Reflections” with a precise and geometric rhythm that is reflected in a multiplication of images.
“Vicenza stone finds its original element in water – says Moreno Zurlo of AcMe studio – shells, corals, algae metaphorically ran to the mountain 40 million years ago, and the particular texture of Vicenza stone recalls the memory of the fossils that characterize it. Now, with this installation, from the height of their solid and immovable home, the ancient inhabitants of the sea return to mirror themselves in the water “.
The work required more than 3 cubic meters of Giallo Dorato Vicenza stone . The installation, which is particularly complex, is “the result of the synergy between the designer, the marble workers, architects, engineers and installers who have allowed the implementation of a complicated project” – says Francesco Grassi – “it is part of a path of experimentation that we have been conducting for years , a sort of Research & Development that I consider necessary for the growth of a company“.
